CHILD SPONSORSHIP

Abundant Life Children's Home is a loving, caring place filled with the love of Jesus. Children who would otherwise have no hope are finding a positive environment where dreams and visions come alive. Trained up in the Word of God and given a proper education, these kids are growing up with hope, faith and vision.

You Have A Golden Opportunity to help one or more of these children. Imagine the satisfaction of knowing you have rescued a child from deceptive religion, drug addiction, prostitution or poverty.

CHILD SPONSOR INFORMATION / FAQ's

Child sponsorship is a joint effort between you and us to help a child have a chance in life. God had placed us in the Golden Triangle Region of Thailand. Poverty, drugs and prostitution are rampant. Your sponsorship helps us to rescue a child and give them an opportunity to grow up in a Christ centered environment.

The financial commitment is US$30.00/ month/ child which can be sent in monthly or annually. There is no contract involved, but rather a free will offering from you. Our hope is that you will sponsor your child through the years, but you can terminate your sponsorship at any time you decide.

100% of your gift is used for the child's support. We raise the administrative cost through our general budget. Our children's homes are run with excellence and are full care facilities.

Medical: In the event of a serious medical expense, hospitalization, etc., we would share the need in our monthly partners' letter. This has only happened a couple of times since we began the home. Each time our partners generously gave to meet the need at hand. Our entire staff and the children believe God and pray daily for the protection and safety of every child. Normally our medical expenditures are less than US$500.00/ month for almost 400 children! God is good!

School Supplies: Once a year, usually in May or June, we share the book and school uniform needs with our children sponsors as well as our general supporters. It is presented as a free will offering. Giving towards this is not a requirement for the child sponsors, although most sponsors are happy to help with these costs. The cost varies depending on grade level; we average it out and ask US$50.00/ child/ year for the book and uniform cost.

Food : Three hot meals are served to the children every day.

Shelter : We provide dorm facilities which are “home” for these kids. Each child has their own bed with a mattress and a storage area for their belongings as well as an area to hang their clothes.

Utilities : All of our rooms and facilities have electricity and running water. Ceiling fans are provided in all dorms and meeting areas. Cooking is done with propane.

Transportation : 6-wheel tandem trucks are used to transport children to and from school. We use a 4-ton truck for all business purposes, purchasing supplies, etc…

Salaries : Husband/ Wife teams are employed at Abundant Life Children's Home . These families live with and minister to the children and are available 24 hours a day for the care of the children. The families' salaries range from US$300.00/ month to US$700.00/ month plus housing and food.

We will provide you the opportunity to touch a life for Jesus Christ. In addition to this we will provide the following:

Monthly Partner Update : We will be communicating with you monthly on what is happening at Abundant Life Children's Home as well as other areas of Living Word Ministries .

Annual Picture/ Profile Update : You will be able to watch your sponsored child grow up and see their progress as they graduate through the school system.

Acknowledgement Of Receipt of Your Gift: You will receive a prompt reply of acknowledgement and thanks after we receive your gift at our Clovis , California , office. You will also receive a year end letter that can be used for tax purposes where appropriate. Living Word Ministries International is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service.

We welcome you to write letters to your child. The children love to hear from their sponsors and pictures are especially appreciated. Your letters to your supported child are orally translated to your child. The original letter along with any pictures or gifts that you may have sent is given to the child after they hear the translation.

CAN I SEND GIFTS? Yes! You are welcome to mail gifts to your sponsored child. The postal system in Thailand is normally very efficient. We are not aware of any “missing mail” in over 20 years of living in Thailand . Air Mail takes approximately 2-3 weeks. Surface Mail takes up to three months. Financial Gifts : A cost effective way that has proved to work successfully is to designate an amount of money in addition to your regular support to be used as a gift to your child. Prasit, our Children's Home Director, or Amber, Our Child-Sponsor Coordinator will personally escort your child to the market to purchase gifts in the amount that you designate. Our experience has proved that the children have been extremely practical in their purchase of gifts. What an excuse for a vacation! Actually, we have had many of the children's sponsors come and visit with their sponsored child. This is fine with us. Simply let us know your travel plans. We are quite busy and cannot guarantee that we can host your time in Chiangmai, but you are always welcome to visit our mission compound.

Abundant Life Children's Home is a Christian ministry. Sharing the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ is the sole reason for our existence. We attempt to provide a Christ centered environment for al the children.

All of our children's home staff are graduates from our 2-year bible school. The staff meets with the children corporately for praise, worship, prayer or teaching every day of the week. On Sundays the children attend church services on our compound along with the staff and students of the bible school. The children are assigned scriptures to memorize and participate in a bible reading program throughout the year.
